The World Needs More Energy

The Energy Opportunity That’s Changing Everything

The world is facing a new energy problem. We need far more energy, and we need it fast. The relationship between progress and growth has never been more directly tied to power. AI is reshaping how we work and live, driving massive demand for reliable electricity. Building the models increases the demand for energy, but so does building the outcomes. Faster answers only accelerate the demand for energy to make those outcomes real. And that’s where Caterpillar comes in.

Delivering Energy Solutions

Anyone can sell a generator. Caterpillar brings together the engines and turbines, generators, switch gears, inverters, and grid-forming controls required to produce more power. We integrate those systems with advanced cooling technologies that leverage waste heat, battery storage systems that ensure power quality and resilience, and connections to the grid that support distributed energy systems. Power challenges are different by application and location, and we solve those challenges.

But our real advantage is simple: speed to power. Our expanding manufacturing footprint means we can deliver complete generation packages faster than most any other technology.

Making it Real

Speed is critical when months can mean hundreds of millions in revenue. Caterpillar is delivering gigawatts of natural gas generator sets to data centers, enabling power generation to begin in less than a year from the initial order. We are also growing production and compression solutions to deliver more gas. More minerals are needed to do all this, and we are providing more mining equipment, but also the power to process more ore. Maybe where it all comes together is the small microgrids that blend solar panels, gensets, and batteries to reliably power cell towers that bring coverage to rural developing areas of the world.

The world needs more energy, and Caterpillar’s powerful combination of manufacturing scale, integrated solutions, global support, and execution speed is helping make that happen.
