Caterpillar AB1305 Compliance Statement

In compliance with California’s Voluntary Carbon Market Disclosures Act (“AB1305”), this statement provides a guide to Caterpillar disclosures provided in the 2023 Sustainability Report, 2023 Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) Report, and other company disclosures. This information is being provided as of January 1, 2025.

The following is a summary of the statements regarding greenhouse gas emissions reduction made by the Company throughout the Sustainability Report and other materials. The information provided here is intended to summarize statements made by the Company throughout these materials. Goals, progress, and claims are described in further detail within those materials.

44475.2 Disclosure:

Caterpillar annually reports our Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in our Sustainability Report. Emissions are calculated referencing the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and as described in further detail within the Report. Annual GHG emissions data is provided in our Sustainability Report on pages 4-5, 15-18, and 44-50.

In 2021, Caterpillar set seven new sustainability goals for 2030, including a goal to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 30% between 2018 and 2030. Caterpillar’s Scope 1+2 target is aligned to the SBTi “well below 2 degree” methodology. Information on this goal and Caterpillar's progress toward achieving that goal can be found in our Sustainability Report.

Caterpillar engages with an independent third party to conduct verification of our GHG emissions reported on an annual basis. The third party performs a limited assurance of Scope 1, Scope 2 market-based and location-based, and Scope 3 Category 11 Use of Sold Products GHG emissions, as well as electricity and energy consumption data. The assurance statement is available on our website and with our Sustainability Report.
