Caterpillar Takes Home Snowflake AI Innovator Award
June 4, 2026
At Caterpillar, we use data to improve how work gets done—both for our customers and across our own internal processes.
That work has been recognized with Snowflake’s AI Innovator Award marking the second year Caterpillar has received recognition from Snowflake, a leading cloud-based data and AI platform used by many of the world’s largest companies.
The recognition reflects work focused on making data easier to access and use, helping teams move faster and make better decisions.
Building on a Strong Data Foundation
At the center of this effort is Caterpillar’s enterprise data strategy. A curated copy of enterprise data is stored within Snowflake, creating a consistent and trusted view of information across the business.
This allows teams to work from the same data to support reporting, analytics and the development of digital solutions. Caterpillar has built a data assistant on top of that foundation that allows employees to go from a question to an answer in seconds. Employees can query data directly through a simple interface, helping teams move faster and work from a shared, reliable source of information.
“Previously, accessing and analyzing data often required technical expertise or support from specialized teams, which could slow decisions and limit access,” said Chief Digital Officer Ogi Redzic. “Our goal was to remove friction from the experience.”
The impact is clear across the business. Teams spend less time searching for data and more time acting on it. The approach is also repeatable.
“When data is easier to access and use, teams spend less time looking for answers and more time acting on them,” said Chief Information Officer Jamie Engstrom. “That’s what drives real efficiency, and it’s how we respond more quickly to business needs.”
This recognition reflects Caterpillar’s focus on practical innovation that improves how work gets done every day.
