Kathryn D. Karol

Kathryn Dickey Karol serves as Senior Vice President of Caterpillar Inc., where she leads the company’s global government and corporate affairs organization. In this role, she oversees a worldwide team responsible for federal, state and international government relations, corporate communications including employee engagement, social media, media and public affairs and corporate social responsibility initiatives. She also chairs the Caterpillar Foundation, guiding its philanthropic efforts to drive sustainable progress.

Karol joined Caterpillar in 2012 from Amgen Inc., where she was Vice President of Global Government and Corporate Affairs. Prior to that, she held leadership roles at Eli Lilly and Company, including Executive Director for International Government Affairs and Market Access. With more than 30 years of progressive, global experience, Karol has built a distinguished career at the intersection of business, policy, communications and social impact.

A native of Washington, D.C., Karol earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and criminal justice from the University of Delaware. She has served in leadership positions with numerous organizations, most recently as a Board Member of The Economic Club of Washington, D.C., the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Advisory Council and The President’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa (PAC-DBIA).
