Andrew Bonfield

Andrew Bonfield is Executive Advisor and CFO Emeritus of Caterpillar Inc.

Bonfield joined Caterpillar in September 2018 and brings more than three decades of financial expertise to the role, most recently serving as Group CFO and board member of National Grid plc, a British multinational electricity and gas utility company. Prior to National Grid, Bonfield held the position of chief financial officer at Cadbury plc and served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Bristol Myers Squibb.

In April 2026, Caterpillar announced Bonfield’s retirement, effective October 1, 2026.

Bonfield is a chartered accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa.

He serves as a non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee at Reckitt Benckiser Group plc, a British multinational consumer goods company.
