D10 High Drive Dozer

By the early 1970s, Caterpillar had developed powerful dozers, but heavy rock applications remained challenging. So we flipped the dozer design on its head. In 1977, after years of prototypes and patents, we released the D10 dozer. Featuring a revamped undercarriage and an elevated sprocket, the D10 was more durable, longer lasting and more powerful than its predecessors.
The D10 weighs 190,000 lb, or 86,183 kg.
The Caterpillar team generated 93 patents in the creation of the D10.
