Thomas G. Frake

Tom Frake is a senior vice president of the Excavation Division. In this role he provides global leadership for the design and manufacture of tracked and wheeled excavators ranging in size from 11 to 90 metric tons, as well as Cat Work Tools.

Tom joined Caterpillar in 1986 and held a variety of positions in sales, marketing, product development and management across Caterpillar’s global portfolio, including leadership positions in Singapore, Chile and the U.S. In 2012, the Caterpillar Board of Directors appointed Tom as vice president of Caterpillar’s Marine & Petroleum Power Division. Tom was named vice president of the Excavation Division in 2018.

Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering from Purdue University. He has also completed the Caterpillar Advanced Management Program and the Harvard Advanced Management Program.
