Tom Frake is vice president of Caterpillar Inc. with responsibility for the Excavation Division. In this role he provides global leadership over Caterpillar’s Track and Wheeled Hydraulic Excavators and Work Tools. The Excavation Division’s footprint spans 18 countries today with more than 6,000 employees.
Tom joined Caterpillar in 1986, and prior to his appointment to vice president of Caterpillar’s Marine & Petroleum Power Division in 2012, he held a variety of positions in sales, marketing, product development and management across Caterpillar’s global portfolio, including leadership positions in Singapore, Chile and the U.S.
Tom’s collaborative approach, commitment to the customer and strong enterprise focus have served him well in his thirty-plus year career. You couple those things with his strong leadership competencies, global perspective and deep product knowledge and you get highly engaged teams motivated to deliver exceptional products and services for our customers.
Tom’s education includes the Harvard Advanced Management Program (2004), Caterpillar Advanced Management Program (2001), Caterpillar Advanced Management Program (1998), Caterpillar Marketing Trainee Program (1986) and Purdue University, B.S., Agricultural Engineering (1986).
