What is Supplier Diversity?
Diversity within our supply base is paramount to Caterpillar in an effort to mirror the varied markets in which we operate. Our passion for continuous improvement is the driving spirit behind our Supplier Diversity Initiative, as we strategically position diverse suppliers who provide quality products and services, innovation, cost competitiveness and volume flexibility in support of our business.

Within Supplier Diversity, it is our greatest ambition to provide sourcing opportunities throughout our organization to a wide range of diverse business types. Seamless integration of these businesses allows for incredible synergies to occur as we assist them in growth and development. In turn, diverse suppliers effectively support Caterpillar's various businesses and daily operations. Caterpillar's Supplier Diversity Initiative provides a prime opportunity for mutual development.

How to Register as a Potential Caterpillar Supplier:
Registering your company is the first step of the process.  Our online application is not only an efficient process it is also is a great way for you to highlight your capabilities to our category teams. Make sure to complete all required elements as indicated by a *.  In addition, at the end of the online application, there will be an opportunity for you to attach all official certifications, as these will be needed for verification of diverse business classifications.   Please note, if the following diverse business or quality classifications are claimed, Official SBA (Small Business Administration) Documentation and Certifying Body Documentation are required, respectively:
•    Small Disadvantaged Business
•    HUBZone Business (Located in a HUBZone & 35% of employees reside in a HUBZone)
•    ISO Quality Certifications
 

Please note, our procurement team uses all of the information requested in their initial evaluation of your company. Failure to submit a completed profile can result in lost opportunities to partner with Caterpillar as a Supplier.

What Happens After You Register:
Upon registering your accurate and completed Supplier datasheet, your company's information will be placed in our Supplier Database, which is frequently used by our sourcing teams when attempting to identify diverse suppliers that match Caterpillar's current business need. The Supplier Diversity team will continue to coach you in communicating the value your organization brings to the table.

A submission of a Supplier Diversity Registration Datasheet does not imply a contractual agreement is in place, nor does it qualify you as an official Caterpillar supplier. Caterpillar is not obligated to procure from your business. A Caterpillar Global Purchasing representative will contact you only if and when a business opportunity presents itself. Notification of selection will then be followed by further evaluation for compliance with our supplier standards and compatibility with our strategic vision.
