Caterpillar in the United Kingdom

The UK is one of the largest bases for Caterpillar outside the US, and our UK businesses export over 85% of their manufactured products to a wide variety of customers and markets. Our products, services and technologies fall into four principal lines of business:

Machinery
Cat® branded construction equipment made in the UK serve customers in sectors such as earth moving, aggregates, mining, construction, forestry and waste.

Engines
Cat® and Perkins® branded diesel and gas engines power our own branded equipment as well as equipment in a wide variety of customer applications including agricultural, materials handling, general industrial, construction, marine and electric power generation. Through our Turner Transmissions business a range of off highway transmissions are also made in the UK.

Electric Power
Our FG Wilson business in Northern Ireland supplies a range of customers with diesel and gas powered generating sets for prime and standby power systems.

Services
Our UK service offering covers industry leading equipment and parts distribution for Caterpillar and third-party businesses. The UK is home to the European headquarters for the Cat Reman business, and Cat Financial Services provides financial support to our customers and dealers. Additionally, our Solar industrial gas turbine business has an important regional base in Aberdeen, Scotland.

In recent months we have added two new businesses in the form of the UK operations of Caterpillar's large mining equipment division and the UK service operations of Caterpillar's Progress Rail Division.

Cat®Dealer
Our UK national dealer is Finning (UK) Limited who sells Cat products across the UK and Ireland to a range of both public and private customers, and provides a wide range of dealer services and support to such entities. Visit www.finning.co.uk.
