Caterpillar Visitors Center Featured in Washington Post Lifestyle Section

The Washington Post explores the Caterpillar Visitors Center in a recent story about Peoria, Ill., in the publication's Lifestyle section.

“The movie theater started to rumble and shake as if a giant were stomping his feet,” wrote Andrea Sachs. “Despite the quaking, I had no reason to be alarmed. I was sitting inside a life-size replica of a Caterpillar mining truck. Its 13-foot-tall tires could easily crush any threat, real or imagined.”

Caterpillar employs around 14,000 people in the Peoria-area, and the piece examines several other destinations in the area including Grandview Drive, the Peoria Riverfront Museum, Wildlife Prairie Park and monuments of various Peoria luminaries.
