Caterpillar Recognized on Interbrand’s 2014 Best Global Green Brands

Caterpillar has been ranked No.46 on Interbrand’s Best Global Green Brands 2014 list, the fourth consecutive year that Caterpillar has been recognized on this list since its commencement in 2011.

Interbrand is the world’s largest brand consultancy. Understanding the large impact of “green” efforts in today’s world, Interbrand began ranking brands based on the foundation in place from the Best Global Brands report. The methodology of Best Global Green Brands is based on assessing both market perception and actual environmental performance of brands drawn from the annual Best Global Brands report.

"Interbrand recognized Caterpillar for our strategic focus on sustainability and noted that we have made much progress toward the goals we established in 2006 associated with reductions in waste, energy intensity, water use, emissions and safety incidents,” said Global Director of Sustainable Development Tim Lindsey. “Interbrand specifically mentioned that our three sustainability principles of preventing waste, improving quality and developing better systems are unique and form the cornerstone of our sustainability efforts. They also noted our commitment to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards for new facilities and cited the Caterpillar Visitors Center as an example."
