Oberhelman Goes Big with Fortune

November 30, 2015

Caterpillar Chairman and CEO Doug Oberhelman went big when discussing the company’s future with Fortune’s Susie Gharib.

In a two-part interview released on Fortune.com, Oberhelman responded to big challenges surrounding Caterpillar such as China’s growth, oil prices, and a possible long-term U.S. highway bill.

He also touched on big, crucial opportunities like Lean manufacturing, the company’s digital plans and the Across the Table initiative with Cat® dealers – all of which are aiming to better position Caterpillar’s future.

“What we’ve done is try to take advantage of things in tough times that you wouldn’t be able to do normally,” Oberhelman said. “The world is changing so fast around us that we can’t let this downturn slow us down on some of the things we have to get done.”
