Caterpillar Group President Stu Levenick ended his tenure as Chairman of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) at their annual conference, November 3-5 in Orlando, Florida. As 2013 AEM Chairman, Stu had the honor of emceeing the event. In one of his final acts as Chairman, Levenick welcomed 2014 AEM Chairman Rick Patek, Group Vice President of Aggregate & Mining, Astec Industries Inc.
“It’s been a memorable year. I’m confident that we will build on the successes of this year and achieve even more impressive accomplishments working under the capable leadership of our 2014 Chair Rick Patek. My term as your AEM Chair is now complete, but it certainly does not mark the end of my commitment and involvement in AEM. Thank you for the opportunity to serve each of you and our industry,” said Levenick.
In appreciation of Levenick's service to the organization, he was named a Life Honorary Director of AEM. In his year as Chairman, the organization focused on AEM's new financial model, expanded advocacy program, improved member services, increased member engagement and global business development.

Also at the conference, Levenick accepted AEM’s Pillar of the Industry award on behalf of Caterpillar. The award recognizes member companies who have achieved or maintained Gold-level status in the Association’s I Make America pro-manufacturing advocacy campaign. Gold status signifies the highest level of involvement in the campaign. The award recognizes dedication to the people and communities of the equipment manufacturing industry through extensive I Make America activities. Actions can include significant employee involvement; outreach to state, local and federal legislators; and promoting campaign sign-ups at trade shows and with allied trade associations.
