The Caterpillar Visitors Center (CVC) recently moved five new pieces of equipment onto its product display floor - a CT660 Vocational Truck, a 318E Hydraulic Excavator, a 262C Series 2 Skid Steer Loader, a 966K Wheel Loader and a 420F IT Backhoe Loader.
"We are so excited to have new equipment to share with our visitors! Even if you've been to the Caterpillar Visitors Center before, we encourage you to come back and see the new equipment," said Kathryn Spitznagle, CVC manager. "Our product floor continues to showcase the breadth of the Caterpillar product line to our customers and gives our employees the opportunity to showcase the equipment they've built."
Taking the place of the 140M2 Motor Grader is a CT660 Vocational Truck, which is the largest new piece of equipment, sitting at 30 feet long, and features a concrete mixer.
The 318E Hydraulic Excavator, which replaces the 320E that was equipped with a bucket, is equipped with a H115E S hammer that can deliver up to 800 blows per minute.
The 262C Series 2 Skid Steer Loader, which is displayed where the 300.9D Mini Hydraulic Excavator was located outside the Dealer Gallery, is ideal for construction, agricultural and landscaping applications.
Staying in the Wheel Loader family, the 950K was replaced by a 966K Wheel Loader, which is a larger model with an operating weight of more than 53,000 lbs.
Finally, the same model of Backhoe Loader is being displayed, a 420F IT, but this time with a BA25 broom and a H95E S hammer to showcase applications in both construction and finishing.
A D6T Track-Type Tractor will be moved into the CVC later this summer, taking the place of the D7E.
The Caterpillar Visitors Center is located at 110 SW Washington Street in downtown Peoria, open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Saturday (last ticket sold at 3:30 p.m.).
