Caterpillar has been named to the "25 Noteworthy Companies" list and the "Top 10 Companies for Veterans" list by DiversityInc, an internationally recognized resource on diversity management. The 2013 nominees were officially honored on April 23 at a ceremony in New York City.
DiversityInc's "Noteworthy Companies" are selected for strong diversity and inclusion performance and have the potential to make the following year's "Top 50 Companies for Diversity" list. The "Top 10 Companies for Veterans" distinction is based on an active military resource group (the Caterpillar Armed Forces Support Network), recruitment and onboarding programs for veterans, philanthropic endeavors and supplier diversity.
"These are tremendous honors that reflect positively on our talented team," said Global Diversity & Inclusion Director Latasha Gillespie. "Caterpillar is a global leader in so many ways. The recognition from DiversityInc is a confirmation of Caterpillar's commitment to Best Team. This is only our second year completing the full DiversityInc Top 50 survey, so we are really pleased with the progress we have made in such a short amount of time. While we are proud, we only have time to pause to celebrate this recognition. We have too much work yet ahead of us to stop now. We want all employees to experience the empowerment and success that comes from working in an inclusive culture."
Founded in 1998, DiversityInc is dedicated to promoting the business benefits of diversity. DiversityInc's "Top 50 Companies for Diversity" program includes submissions from more than 900 global companies. Each company is judged on CEO commitment, human capital, corporate and organizational communications and supplier diversity.
