Caterpillar is pleased to be included in the 2014 edition of RobecoSAM’s Sustainability Yearbook. On January 21, Caterpillar received notification of inclusion in the Yearbook in the Machinery and Electrical Equipment Industry, and was congratulated by RobecoSAM for outstanding achievements in the area of sustainability.
Since 1999, RobecoSAM has been assessing sustainability reporting and performance of corporations on an annual basis. More than 3,000 of the world’s largest companies, covering 59 industries, are invited to participate each year, and a record number of companies participated this year. To qualify for the yearbook, companies must rank in the top 15 percent of their industry and achieve a score within 30 percent of their Industry Leader’s score.
According to RobecoSAM, the Sustainability Yearbook helps investors identify companies that are strongly positioned to create long-term shareholder value. RobecoSAM’s annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment focuses on examining financial material factors that impact a company’s core business value drivers. Factors such as a company’s ability to innovate, attract and retain talent or increase resource efficiency matter from an investor’s point of view because they impact a company’s competitive position and long-term financial performance.
