Caterpillar and Top Gear joined together for one of their most ambitious shoots yet. Top Gear is known for thrilling and action-packed shows featuring all things motoring. For the August 4 season finale, the Top Gear team jammed The Mall with more than £200 million worth of British-manufactured products, including six Cat® machines.
“We are very proud to see UK-manufactured Cat machines involved in such an epic scene celebrating Britain,” said Caterpillar UK Country Manager and Vice President Tana Utley. “Caterpillar has been in the UK for more than 60 years in support of a large European customer base. Top Gear wanted to show how great Britain currently is on the motoring world stage. Caterpillar agrees and we are thrilled to be a part of it.”
With support from Cat dealer Finning, six machines were provided and featured on The Mall in a premier location, closest to Buckingham Palace.
The 740B and 740B EJ Articulated Trucks, 907H and 908H Compact Wheel Loaders and the 432F and 444F Backhoe Loaders included in the shoot are all manufactured in the UK at facilities in Desford, Leicestershire and Peterlee, Co. Durham.
The episode aired on Sunday, August 4 on BBC Two and BBC Two HD in the UK. To view the episode (UK only), click here.
