2012 Sustainability Report and Year in Review Recognized by the League of American Communications Professionals

Caterpillar's 2012 Sustainability Report and Year in Review both received recognition in the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP)'s Annual Report Competition—the 2012 Vision Awards. This is one of the world's largest report competitions with more than 6,000 reports submitted, representing more than two-dozen countries.

The 2012 Sustainability Report was a Platinum Award winner with a cumulative score of 99 out of 100, based on a variety of categories such as the overall first impression, information accessibility and creativity.

"This year's sustainability report for Caterpillar Inc. proves to be remarkable in light of the tremendous competition," said Christine Kennedy, LACP Managing Director.

The 2012 Year in Review was equally impressive.

"Overall we find this work to be outstanding, earning a total score of 97 out of a maximum 100 points. The first impression presented by this annual report is exceptional," Kennedy said. "The Letter to Shareholders presented to readers is exceptional while the report narrative is outstanding."
