It’s incredible new technology like the new Perkins® SmartCap that keeps them on the cutting edge. The SmartCap is the world's first low cost engine level connectivity device. Coupled with the Perkins® My Engine App, this 'smart' oil cap enables customers to easily track use of their engine and servicing requirements, locate their local Perkins distributor, see parts information and receive service updates, all in one place and in a matter of minutes. 

And, Perkins aftermarket and, the newly launched online aftermarket shop for U.S. owners of Perkins powered equipment, is just another reason to celebrate. 

These new solutions make this significant anniversary milestone even more exciting – and a huge testament to the hard-working people and wonderful customers who have made this possible.

Caterpillar customers do tough work – and the new Cat® 986K Large Wheel Loader is built to keep up with their toughest demands.  It’s designed with durability built in and allows customers to move more material efficiently and safely at a lower cost per ton. 

The 986K was a highlight of this year’s Quarry Days in Málaga, Spain, which found customers flying in from all over Europe to see what new innovative ideas Caterpillar has to offer. The program also showcased drone services, new safety technology and a series of product demonstrations. 

So, what’s it all about? We’re building upon a legacy of durability, performance, safety, operator comfort, serviceability and sustainability – and, it’s a legacy we can all be proud of sharing. 

Built for the Challenge

Since the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union one year ago, Caterpillar’s government affairs teams have been working closely with political stakeholders to tell Caterpillar’s priorities and gain greater clarity on the government's plans and its impact on our people and operations.

Global Governmental and Corporate Affairs Vice President Kathryn Karol, European Union Government Affairs Director Jerome Bandry and U.K. Government Affairs Manager Denise Peet recently met with senior U.K. policy makers to discuss the issues and challenges as seen by Caterpillar around trade, skills and infrastructure investment. 

We remain committed to a competitive presence in the U.K. and are engaged in looking at ways to mitigate the impact of the U.K.’s decision to leave the EU on our valued customers, employees, shareholders and partners in our integrated supply chain, as well as ensuring we are prepared and ready to take advantage of new opportunities in the post-Brexit world.

CFO Brad Halverson visited Kevin Jarboe, a Caterpillar engineer and antique equipment enthusiast. An unlikely stroke at a young age almost cost Kevin his life. Kevin's drive to get well turned into a drive to succeed.
