#ICYMI 2017: #WeAreCaterpillar

December 15, 2017

Every day, all day, there's no shortage of news and information coming at you from all directions. Emails. Social media. Search engines. Online and print newspapers. Magazines and newsletters. And hopefully caterpillar.com!

It's really difficult to keep up with it all, but we've got you covered. We've rounded up the biggest articles about our communities, what it’s like to work at Caterpillar and our team’s greatest accomplishments … in case you missed them when they were first published.

Yellow Iron Rides Out the Storm

As the rain fell and catastrophic flooding spread across many areas of Texas during Hurricane Harvey, rescue workers worked to aid in relief efforts. Right by their side were Cat® dealers and Caterpillar employees.

Making an Impact Around the World

Fortune‘s “10 Most Powerful Women to Watch” list spotlights women who are making an incredible impact on the world and are on their way to even greater achievements. The 2017 “Women to Watch” list includes one of our very own – Group President Denise Johnson!

Delivering Superior Customer Service

Far from the comforts of home – working in the harshest of climates – SEM Service Engineer Shi Qing knows how to get the job done. His deep understanding of customer needs and willingness to do whatever it takes truly helps build a better world.

Driven to Succeed

Kevin Jarboe is on top of the world when he’s riding his 1952 D2 Caterpillar tractor. With 17 years at the company, Caterpillar is not only Kevin’s career – it’s his passion, his hobby and a great escape from the challenges of everyday life.

And the Award Goes To …

Amy Moore-McKee, director of our Mining Design Center, accepted the 2017 Engineering Executive of the Year designation by SAE International. The prestigious award, established in 1995, gives a nod to outstanding engineer executives.

Turning Hard Work into Yellow Gold

From the production line to the showcase floor, Team Leads Audrey Freeman and Saira Friedrich gave us the 2017 CONEXPO scoop from customers, dealers and senior leadership.

Standing Out Above the Rest

Age is no longer an expectation of superior capability, and Caterpillar’s Drew Tolly is an example of that. Named to Forbes’ “30 under 30 for 2017,” Drew’s part of Caterpillar’s growing analytics business at age 26. In short, he’s helping to make our iron smarter – driving equipment use, maintenance and so much more.

Future Executives Report to Work

With Caterpillar badges clipped to their dresses, Kenley and Karly Graham walked hand-in-hand with their mom through the entrance of Caterpillar’s Administration Building in Peoria, Illinois, learning what it really means to be a part of Team Caterpillar.

Cat® Excavator Makes Landmines a Thing of the Past

What happens when a Cat Excavator is donated to a non-profit group specializing in the safe removal of unexploded landmines from war-torn regions around the world? You get a prototype machine that is tele-operated from a safe distance with the help of cameras, controllers and virtual reality goggles with no human lives put at risk.

When Passion Becomes Your Purpose

Caterpillar engineers are among the best in the world – innovating, creating and driving our company to new heights while embracing diversity. Not only do we recognize it, but the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) does as well.
