Caterpillar Celebrates 20 Years in Sumter, SC
Employees celebrate with family celebration
Sumter, SC – The Caterpillar Precision Pin Products facility in Sumter, SC is celebrating 20 years in operation. The 210,000 square-foot facility opened its doors on October 8, 1998, producing linkage pins, planet shafts and hinge pins used in a variety of Cat® products.
“Our success here has been driven by a great community and our outstanding employees,” said Doug Whiteley, Sumter facility manager. “I would like to thank all of our employees for helping make Caterpillar a great place to work. The outstanding commitment of our entire team has helped drive our safety and quality culture.”
The 20-year anniversary celebration was held in October at the facility with employees and their families and included food and music.
