Answering that age old question of, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” became a bit easier for a group of twenty-eight Bradley University students.
Caterpillar and Bradley’s Day of Exploration was held in the Caterpillar Innovation Acceleration room, located at the Tech Center on Friday, February 24. Students were greeted with a welcome from Recruitment Manager, Jen Art, and opening remarks from Vice President, Jean Savage, before heading off on their tour of the Tech Center labs.
The roundtable discussions were a great way for the young professionals to hear from Caterpillar employees about how they transitioned from college to career, ways to maintain work/life balance, and the paths their careers have taken so far. The day ended with a short job shadowing experience so students can experience a day in the life of engineering, accounting, finance, IT, order-to-delivery, and data analytics professionals.
Caterpillar’s partnership with Bradley University provides many opportunities like this one for students to engage on site with working professionals in their current field of study. With this partnership, students are able to see first-hand the many different career paths Caterpillar has to offer—both in internships and full-time employment.
