Annual Disaster Giving Program Gives the American Red Cross Means for Immediate Response

On March 22, 2014, a landslide buried a rural community near Oso, Washington. With support from the Caterpillar Foundation, the American Red Cross was able to supply emergency food, shelter and relief items, physical and mental health services, individual recovery planning and assistance, disaster preparedness and community rebuilding to victims of the landslide. The Caterpillar Foundation is a member of the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP). By granting upfront investments, the Caterpillar Foundation provides a funding base that allows the Red Cross to respond immediately to the needs of individuals and families impacted by disasters every year.
