Israa, age 23, began her path toward financial independence when she joined the bookkeeping training offered through EquipYouth, an initiative of the International Youth Foundation. The six-month training consisted of three parts: life skills instruction, technical training and an internship. Upon completion, Israa received a job offer from IKEA. Today, Israa has great ambitions. "In five years, I hope to become a shop owner." She adds, "I want to buy a car, an apartment and fully establish myself financially."
