Famous for her banana bread, Tencia is a widow living in central Mozambique with her three boys. "Without water it's impossible to bake," Tencia says. For years, the lack of clean water in her village made it a slow process. One entire day would be devoted to baking and the next to selling her bread. Then, in 2010, with the help of a charity: water partner organization in Mozambique, her village received a borehole that brought clean water right into the center of town. Now Tencia isn't just providing for her family, she's running a business. Instead of living day to day, she's thinking about the future—about growth and opportunity.
