Targeted Investments in Peoria Help Improve Entire City

The South Side and East Bluff neighborhoods of Peoria, Illinois are marked by a large concentration of deteriorating housing and high vacancy rates. In April 2015, Greater Peoria Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) launched the Community Core initiative, which will target $300,000 of investments in a four-by-six block area in each neighborhood. LISC is working with Peoria residents, East Bluff Neighborhood Housing Services, PCCEO Community Action Agency and a number of other community organizations to create great places to live, work and raise families.
