Nigel Lewis is vice president of Caterpillar Inc. with responsibility for Europe Africa Middle East Eurasia (EAME), as well as global leadership of the corporate eCommerce strategy.
Since joining Caterpillar in 1998, he has held numerous marketing positions in power systems and machines, having first started with Perkins (a wholly owned Caterpillar subsidiary). In 2002, he was promoted to general manager for Perkins Engines Asia Pacific and following an assignment with Global Revenue Management in Peoria, he was appointed district manager in 2006 within the North American Commercial Division. In 2010, he assumed southern region manager position in Americas Distribution Services Division, responsible for the performance of the Caterpillar business portfolio in Latin America & Brazil. The Caterpillar Board of Directors named Lewis vice president of the EAME Distribution Services Division in 2012, and then in 2015 to lead the development and launch of a new division – Global Aftermarket Solutions. In 2019, when distribution services were again divided in three distinct regions, Lewis assumed responsibility for the new EAME Distribution Services Division.
His career assignments have provided him with the opportunity to develop broad global experience having worked in Europe, Africa, Middle East, CIS, Asia, North and South America.
Lewis is a member of the US Africa Business Center Board. He is also a member of the Foundation Board of IMD (International Institute for Management Development). He is a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland having graduated from Queen's University Belfast in 1995. He holds a master's degree in business administration from Warwick University and is a graduate of the Caterpillar Stanford Executive Development Program, Digging Deep.
Married with three children, Lewis lives in Geneva, Switzerland.
