Caterpillar Dubai celebrates Ramadan for a third year in a row by donating food to those in need.
The holy month of Ramadan is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to reflect on their blessings and observe self-restraint. During this month people are also encouraged to give back to the community and increase charitable contributions. There are over 200 fridges dedicated to the Ramadan Sharing Fridges campaign, which are located across the UAE for the month of Ramadan. People can fill the fridge at any time of the day with drinks and food.
Recently the Caterpillar team in Dubai worked together to once again fill community fridges with fruit, juice water, milk and snacks for those in need. Demonstrating the use of their Caterpillar values the team put them into action through participation in the Ramadan Sharing Fridges campaign, which is a movement that has grown over the last two years in the Middle East with the aim of providing the less fortunate community workers and laborer’s access to free food and drinks during the month.
This was the third year the Caterpillar team participated on the “sharing fridges” community event. The team was able to raise money to donate to the cause in addition to dedicating their time heat to filling the fridges, while fasting, in the extreme heat. They filled 17 fridges across the UAE over a 2-day period and were delighted to be able to give back to the community.
The need to give back to the community was encouraged and supported by Managing Director, Mubeen Khan. “We often find opportunities to contribute towards some amazing causes, but the Ramadan Fridge campaign allows our team to also get out in the community to witness the difference these contributions impact people’s lives. This is our third year participating as an office and the team looks forward to bringing smiles to the faces of those in need” says Mubeen.
