Ensuring Customer Success

Caterpillar’s portfolio of products and solutions is centered around the customers who use them. When products are sold or new products or technologies are introduced, our customer-facing teams begin the process of supporting the end user to get the most out of their new solution.

Originally from Brazil but now stationed in Peru, Robson Santos is the technology site manager responsible for preparing customers to fully leverage technologies to increase efficiency, productivity and safety on the mine site through change management. According to Robson, “Change management identifies every stakeholder involved with or impacted by the implementation of a technology or solution. I get together with them, communicate changes, identify training opportunities and monitor the development to provide support for any issues the customer is facing.”

Over the course of his 10-year career at Caterpillar, Robson’s focus has always been on making mining customers successful. “Caterpillar’s overall purpose is helping our customers build a better world, which means that every product and service we provide must get us closer to fulfilling that purpose.” Early in his career Robson was involved in a project that changed the way mining customers in Brazil work. Through this, he supported the technology site manager who was responsible for the overall MineStar™ implementation. “Today, the role of technology site manager is my job, so I have been able to use what I learned from that project with skills that came from other roles along the way to help me be successful today.”
