Meet the Former Athletes of Team Caterpillar

July 29, 2021

We know success in any endeavor takes both dedication and hard work.

Check out how members of Team Caterpillar leverage the lessons they learned in competitive athletics to drive success.

Erin Bault

Marketing & Sales Operations Representative

Sport: Bowling, McKendree University

Achievements: National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Champions, United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Collegiate Single Championships Qualifier

“Managing my time, working together, putting others first, knowing my role at any given time, being coachable, trusting others and always striving to improve have all paid off throughout my numerous roles. One of the biggest lessons learned is that I will not always get it right the first time nor on my own. It’s okay to ask for help and lean on others to move along in a project or for others to coach me until I get it right.”

Bruce Brineman

Operations Manager

Sport: Football, Purdue University

Achievements: Academic All-American, 3-time Academic All Big 10, Big 10 Medal of Honor Award, Chicago Bears free agent try-out

“Athletics gave me the opportunity to learn how great leaders lead, how peak performers achieve record-setting results in their field, and how high performers think. I have been fortunate to be exposed to many leadership and performance improvement methods seeing both incredible success and failure. This has helped shape me and how I try to lead and make a positive impact on my team and others. From all this, I have developed a leadership philosophy and curriculum that I teach for a graduate-level course at Purdue.”
