Caterpillar Celebrates Future World Builders on National Intern Day

Last week, we celebrated the future world builders and change makers as employees, interns, and facilities spent National Intern Day recognizing the meaningful work our interns do to push our business forward.

This summer, over 300 interns in various functions and facilities put their skills and knowledge to the test here at Caterpillar. Through our internships, they have a great opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job experience and contribute to real-world projects.

On National Intern Day, we went behind the scenes with four interns to see what a day in their life is really like. (link to that video here) Their peers from across the US took to social media to share their own experiences. One intern, Lauren Uhlean, shared, “All of my coworkers at Caterpillar truly care about helping me learn new things, succeed in my projects, and achieve my goals.”

Managers celebrated their interns too. “Our interns brighten life up on a daily basis and are adding tremendous value via the projects they are working,” said Jill Minassian, “They are fast learners, hungry to contribute, great at taking ownership, and great at solving problems – all with a great attitude and smile on their face.”

Our South Milwaukee facility joined in the celebration sharing, “You are both talented individuals that hit the ground running and are committed to helping our customers build a better world,” about their interns Jenna Kummerer and Alex Draheim, “Thank you for your energy, passion, and positive attitude you show on a daily basis!”

At Caterpillar, our interns bring fresh ideas, outside perspective and passion for the work they do. Think that sounds like you? Search and apply for internships today!
