Experience India, a fundraiser aimed at giving back to the local community, was recently hosted by the Caterpillar Asian Indian Community (C-AIC) employee resource group. The event was a multi-cultural showcase of various art and dance influenced from regions around the globe and presented in collaboration with local Indian dance school, Mythili Dance Academy, Peoria, IL. 2018 marks the ninth consecutive year the C-AIC has hosted Experience India, and the group was proud to be able to contribute proceeds from the event to the Center for Prevention of Abuse.
“As the Executive Sponsor for the Caterpillar Asian Indian Community Employee Resource Group, I was honored to be a part of the Experience India event, which was a wonderful celebration of diversity and multiple cultures, while coming together to advance our community,” said – Dave Walton, Caterpillar Vice President.
With more than 1,000 in attendance and over 150 volunteers and participants from a variety of diverse cultural backgrounds, the group is proud to call the event a success, having donating more than $60,000.00 this year alone to the Center for Prevention Abuse, the funds will be use to advocate for survivors of abuse within the local community.
“This event was a great example of the good we can do when partnering with other businesses and community leaders. I am already looking forward to next year’s event,” says Walton.
