Recently, leaders and employees participated in Caterpillar’s first Diversity & Inclusion conference. Topics focused on how to positively impact innovation and enable stronger business results and, most importantly, how we can advance the conversation and inspire action. A group of internal and external speakers — including a panel of Caterpillar’s top leaders — led sessions to provoke conversations that will lead to positive change.
“Having the company’s leaders being active in this conference shows employees the genuine, full commitment to improve diversity and inclusion in the day-to-day operations of our business around the world,” said conference-attendee Pedro M., manufacturing project engineer and global chair of the Caterpillar Latino Connection (CLC).
The 2021 D&I Conference is a continuation of our journey and ongoing commitment in this space. Earlier this year we released our first D&I Report to provide transparency and visibility on progress and areas for opportunity going forward. This conference is an extension of our objective to continuously improve our inclusive workplace to enable business growth.
Candid Conversations about D&I from Team Caterpillar:
Our work on diversity & inclusion is constantly evolving to create a culture where our employees, regardless of how they identify, are welcome and their voices are heard. Recently, groups of Caterpillar employees sat down to have an honest conversation about how we’ll achieve our best work and continue making positive change. We have a strong foundation and know that there is still work to be done. We remain committed to enhancing our workplace culture through these continued conversations. Watch the video here.
