Caterpillar employees have a deep commitment to helping our customers succeed. A key to achieving that commitment is empowering our dealer network to stay up to date on the latest and greatest products and solutions. Spring Training is one of the many ways we provide continuous education and support to our dealers to drive customer success.
“Our dealers are our front line. If they don’t know the product and services, we have ultimately failed them. That is why Caterpillar invests the time, money and energy into training our dealers with the latest products and services during our Spring Training event,” says Demonstrator Instructor (DI) & Equipment Training Solutions Coordinator Nathan Myers who helps coordinate the training each year for our dealers.
The annual training is typically a two-part event hosted at the Caterpillar Demonstration and Learning Centers in Illinois and Arizona. This year however, it was consolidated into one virtual event to accommodate limitations on travel and in-person gatherings. Representatives from roughly 48 dealerships in North America were in attendance at this year’s event, which is executed by Caterpillar DI’s who boast a wide range of deep product knowledge and experience which they use to empower customers and dealers alike to receive the most benefit from our products and services.
In the virtual setting, the DI’s coordinated with the Product Application Specialists (PAS) so that as a product or feature was being described on-camera, the DI would be in the cab showcasing that feature in real-time. This year’s training helped dealers get acquainted with the new 395 Next Gen Excavator that was released at CONEXPO in 2020. The DI’s showcased the many customer benefits the 395 offers, including increased efficiency, lower maintenance costs, technology improvements and a redesigned cab with operator comfort in mind.
Collaboration, teamwork and innovation are key ingredients to ensuring our customer’s success. Are you ready to join the team and do the work that matters?
