Caterpillar Singapore donates nearly 2,000 bags of rice after employee step challenge.

Through dedication and collaboration the Caterpillar Singapore team was recently able to donate 2000 bags of rice to families in need.

More than 400 passionate employees joined the Caterpillar Step Challenge Rice Donation.  This three month long corporate social event included 57 teams from approximately 20 business units across 4 facilities in Singapore.

The objective of the challenge was for the participants to walk as many steps as possible during the 3.5-month period with their accumulated steps being converted into bags of rice, to donate to families in need in Singapore.

The teams walked more than 380 million steps. Additionally, each employee participating in walk contributed an additional bag of rice to the families of Singapore.

To achieve their goal of logging as many steps as possible many employees walked to the nearest subway station as opposed to taking a secondary form of public transportation.

Overall, the 2018 CAT Step Challenge Rice Donation was a huge success that united employees with one heart and one mind to drive success for a cause bigger than themselves

The event was hosted to enhance the employee experience and increase engagement – because Caterpillar believes that there’s more to work than just the work itself.
