Solving Customer Challenges to Build a More Sustainable World

At Caterpillar, we pride ourselves on the ability to work with our customers to deliver superior products and services no matter the challenge. When one of the largest construction contractors in Taiwan, Jianfeng Construction, reached out to Taiwan Cat dealer, Capital Machinery Limited, with a project of building six artificial lakes totaling 14.5 million cubic meters, they quickly got to work. 

The goal of the artificial lake project is to provide up to 25 tons of water a day to the surrounding communities. Up until now, these communities have relied heavily on water sources from other areas and underground water as their sole fresh tap water source. The land has also experienced layer subsidence, a decline in the elevation of the land’s surface. The project will provide land restoration to prevent further layer subsidence and instead build up a lakeside view.  

Over the years, partnership with Jianfeng Construction has built strong confidence in Caterpillar’s machine reliability, durability, and productivity. This coupled with expertise in equipment management and after-sales services made Caterpillar the ideal choice for executing this project. Starting day one, Team Caterpillar assisted with fleet recommendations, equipment selection, maintenance, and management. Multiple technicians, service vehicles and a 40-foot parts warehouse container were also provided to Jiangeng Construction by Capital Machinery Limited. Their support through these services will continue throughout the length of the lakes’ construction.
