Software Engineering Manager Akash Jain explains that as digital offerings expand, more workstreams become available to the local talent in India, which allows for challenging work assignments that develop meaningful careers for early talent.  “Early talent has the opportunity to enter at the ground floor of an expanding digital platform that we are building for Caterpillar customers. The role of leaders is to prepare the young talent of today to lead the company in the digital space,” he said.

Both Nanthine Babu and Aafrin Nazer are early into their careers with Caterpillar. The two are focused on digital offerings, like designing the user interface of autonomous solutions and developing programs for machine service data. “Within a short time, I have been given high-impact work. My manager gave me chances to work on projects that help me explore different aspects of the business that I otherwise wouldn’t have access to. This helps me connect and collaborate with other teams outside of my functional area,” says Nanthine.

A solutions-driven mentality mixed with the hunger to learn and grow is a recipe for success at Caterpillar. Aafrin says, “I know that every problem has a solution, and I can solve anything with the help of my team and the subject matter experts who support me.
