Financing the Machines that Build a Better World

Caterpillar machines do powerful work to build the world around us –and employees like Aminata Doumbia, who is part of the Cat Financial team on the Ivory Coast work every day to ensure that customers get the solutions they need to do that work.

“People want to buy Caterpillar machines but sometimes can’t afford it,” said Aminata, “We help them finance it, so they can still build a better world and make a difference”

Aminata began her career as a banker in France, but eventually made the move to the Ivory Coast after an unexpected opportunity with Caterpillar presented itself.

As a banker, Aminata says was spent much of her time working with big firms, but this role with Cat Financial gave her the opportunity to help local champions in her community.

Her role as a financial consultant allows her to bring value through financial solutions in French speaking territories across Africa. Aminata helps dealers better understand customer needs and provides solutions that allow them to acquire the equipment they require.

“We’re in a district where we all have the same goal – the goal is to help Caterpillar and our customers build a better world in West Africa,” said Aminata, “It’s not about machines – the machines will always do the job and do it well, but we also need to work as one team on how we can reach customers.”

She says she enjoys her role because every day is a new challenge, and every new case is a journey. It’s more than just career success for her, it’s about learning the market and customizing each experience for her customers.
