Caterpillar’s digital and technology teams are building on our legacy as a global leader and innovating for the next generation. One where technology-enabled services create improved outcomes for our customers and communities. Our tech and digital teams are at the forefront of this evolution – taking pride in solving complex problems by building new systems from the ground up. While the challenge is great, so is the opportunity to do work that matters.
Working for a Fortune 100 leader, you can build your career on a global scale and take advantage of development opportunities with emerging technologies like AI and predictive analytics.
You’ll be working with ambitious developers, creators, and inventors to solve complex problems across a range of disciplines such as machine learning, IoT, and autonomous vehicles using an evolving tech stack.
We’ve created a collaborative and inclusive environment for you to explore your passions, make an impact and do the work that really matters.
You won’t be focused on the same task day in and day out. You’ll be developing proof of concepts, prototypes, services, APIs and fullfledged applications for both existing and new initiatives that are critically important to Caterpillar’s future.
You’ll leverage data from across our entire global enterprise to create a global, custom-built cloud platform that will open a new world of possibilities for our machines, our customers, our dealers and our business.
Our autonomous mining vehicles have logged more miles than any autonomous fleet in the world moved more than two billion tons safely. You could be working with teams to develop software applications to move the next 2 billion tons and expand our autonomous technology to other customer segments.
Rushil, University of Illinois, Champaign: I am working to analyze machines' movements across establishments to come with a model that can predict where a machine will be in future! So, we can send the parts at the right location.
Amanda, Purdue University: “The Cat Digital Hackathon was an absolute blast! I got to learn new tech, work with my amazing peers, and show off to my superiors - what more could I ask for?” said Amanda Bolen, Intern for the Platform team.
Sophia, University of Minnesota: Currently I am creating a new template in order to deploy an individual pipeline for sqs and sns CloudFormation group services! I really like this task because the last one I worked on was a POC about templates as well so I feel knowledgeable about the topic and like I can offer valuable input.
Caterpillar is investing in our digital future, and we’re looking for innovative and intellectually curious Software Engineers and Data Scientists to start their careers with us as a part of the Cat Digital - Digital Development Program!
