Metallurgical Engineering track

Build what matters – and make it better.

You are key to making our yellow iron -- and all the materials that go with it – better. The Engineering Rotational Development Program (ERDP) - Metallurgical track focuses on materials, technologies and processes related to metallic/ceramic components, fabrications and assemblies. You will work with teams in research and development, product engineering, manufacturing and supplier development to create improvements and solutions.

During the program, you will rotate through assignments that will grow and develop your career. First, you will spend 18 months in product engineering, with work in failure analysis, research or development. You will then spend another 18 months in process engineering, with work in heat treating, casting, coatings, and supplier development. Once you complete the program, we will place you in an assignment at one of our facilities across the U.S.

We look for engineers who have:

  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (no rounding)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science & Engineering
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to relocate
Ashley, a current participant in the LTDP - Metallurgical Engineering track, talks about her experiences in the program.
