There’s excavating, grading, paving, trucking – and Caterpillar yellow everywhere.
That’s what you’ll see on a jobsite run by the Veerkamp family…
Back at their warehouse in Placerville, California, the modern day machines are mixed with marvelous antique equipment. You'll see tractors with Holt, Best and Caterpillar on the grill – more than 100 years of history – under one roof. There are rows of dazzling white, black, gray, red and of course yellow machines detailing Caterpillar’s past.
The story of the Veerkamps and their adventures is as remarkable as their collection. They have even airlifted a rare machine off a mountaintop!
Now, part of the world's most renowned antique machine collection will be traveling across the country to Peoria, Illinois. The machines will be on display at the Caterpillar Visitors Center's inaugural Antique Equipment Expo starting June 13.
Our people never cease to amaze us with their stories. Never. They’ve brought our machines along for the ride on each of their journeys. Shawn Stover and his wife, Fallon, were no different when they cruised down the aisle on a Best 60.Full Story
