
Brad Halverson is a group president and CFO of Caterpillar Inc. Halverson has responsibility for the Finance Services Division, Human Services Division, Global Information Services Division, Global Purchasing Division and Financial Products Division, as well as Caterpillar Production System, Strategy & Business Development, Corporate Auditing and Investor Relations.
In his most recent position, Halverson served two years as vice president of Finance Services Division. Responsibilities included Corporate Accounting, Corporate Treasury, Global Tax & Trade, Global Revenue Management and Enterprise Cost & Business Analysis. He was the corporate controller from 2004-2010.
Halverson joined Caterpillar in 1988 as an accountant after four years of public accounting experience. In 1993, he moved to Geneva, Switzerland, to become a strategy and planning consultant with Caterpillar Overseas, S.A. He went on to become controller in Europe, responsible for Caterpillar's financial reporting in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Halverson returned to the U.S. in 1996 to manage general accounting and financial systems.
From 1998 until 2002, Halverson managed a variety of business resource departments in Caterpillar's Engine Division and was the director of Corporate Business Development.
Halverson graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1982, and earned an Executive MBA in 1996, both from the University of Illinois. He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the American Institute of CPAs.
He serves on the OSF St. Francis Medical Center Community Advisory and is a member of the Illinois Easter Seals Affiliate Board. He is also a member of the Department of Accounting Advisory Council for the University of Texas at Austin and is the chairman of the IHSA State Basketball Tournament Steering Committee.
