Steven L. Fisher is vice president of Caterpillar Inc. with responsibility for the Large Power Systems & Growth Markets Division (LPSD). Through this global organization, Caterpillar provides the most comprehensive lineup of engines in the industry, with technology solutions optimized for each engine platform, machine and application.
Since joining Caterpillar in 1978, Fisher has held a variety of financial and leadership positions. In 1991, he was named business resource manager for the company's fuel systems facility, moving to Performance Engine Products Division in 1995. He served as director of cost management and business services in the Corporate Services Division from 1998 to 2001. In 2001, Fisher joined the remanufacturing group as general manager where he led several acquisitions and strategic alliances furthering Caterpillar’s remanufacturing presence on a global basis.
In 2005, the Caterpillar Board of Directors named Fisher vice president with responsibility for the newly formed Remanufacturing Division, eventually merging with the Core Components Division to become the Remanufacturing & Components Division.
In 2010, Fisher became vice president with responsibility for planning the integration of Bucyrus International into Caterpillar, and in 2012 became vice president of Large Power Systems & Growth Markets, his current role.
Fisher has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bradley University and is a certified public accountant. He completed the Duke University Advanced Management Program in 1999. Fisher is currently a member of the Board of Directors of South Side Mission, Peoria, Ill.
