Leadership and Technical Development Program (LTDP) –
Manufacturing Engineering track
The LTDP - Manufacturing Engineering track will provide the foundation for future success as a selected member of the Caterpillar Manufacturing Engineering community. This community includes manufacturing engineering, technical services, facilities planning, quality engineering, purchasing, and Caterpillar Production System deployment.
Track Overview
The LTDP - Manufacturing Engineering track is a three-year program with three challenging rotation assignments. Your specific rotation path is tailored to your intended job responsibilities and individual development needs.
While in the program, you will have two one-year rotations in manufacturing engineering focused on machining, assembly, process engineering or fabrications. You will also have a one-year cross-functional rotation in quality, purchasing, supply chain management or logistics.
Throughout your time in the program, you will foster your technical skills through integrated core and track specific training, coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
Upon completion of your last rotation, you will return to your hiring organization for an additional three-year assignment.
Eligibility requirements:
- Minimum GPA: 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (no rounding)
- Bachelor's degree in (preferred, but not limited to): Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Operations Management
- Degree from an accredited program or university
- Passion for technology
- Strong communication skills
- Team oriented
- Self starter
- Willing to relocate for rotation assignments
