Caterpillar Foundation Recognizes Four with Community Service Awards
Each year the Caterpillar Foundation recognizes dedicated employees who show outstanding commitment to their communities. One international team, one international individual, one United States team and one United States individual are selected as Community Service Awards recipients.
The 2012 winners included: Earthmoving and Electric Power Division employees Fernando Ebling Sanchez and Carlos Alberto Fernandes Sgrinhelli (international team—Brasil), Excavation Division employee Joel Navez (international individual—Belgium), Reman and Components Division team Rebuilding Together (United States team—Central Illinois) and Solar employee Paul Portrey (United States individual—Chula Vista, California.)
Portrey has been volunteering with Care House Life Ministries since 2003. The $25,000 the Care House received from the Caterpillar Foundation will help the program meet the needs that increase during the holiday and winter months.
Nominations were judged on volunteer service performed from July 2011 to July 2012. Each winners' organizations received $25,000 to help continue their charitable works.
