In 2004, Caterpillar announced plans to offer remanufacturing services to other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).  Like Cat Logistics and Cat Financial, the Remanufacturing Services business takes a Caterpillar core competency into new markets. We entered the automotive remanufacturing business on Sept. 1, 2004, by acquiring Williams Technologies in the United States and Wealdstone Engineering in the United Kingdom. The services business has quickly grown to adjacent space opportunities through the acquisition of Franklin Power Products, a subsidiary of Remy International, and Gremada Inc. Today, Caterpillar remanufacturing services proudly serves customers in the automotive, industrial and electronics industries.
