Caterpillar China Recognized for Sustainability Efforts

Caterpillar China was recently recognized by local media for its continuing efforts in promoting sustainable development in China. Business Value, a monthly magazine owned by Beijing All Media and Culture Group, granted an award to Caterpillar for "reducing energy consumption and leaving a positive impact on people and communities."
Holden Zhou, Commercial and Government Affairs Director of Caterpillar Remanufacturing Service (Shanghai) Co. Ltd, accepted the award on behalf of the company on March 22.
During the past decade, Caterpillar China launched several clean energy projects at coal mines and gas power stations in Shanxi, Shandong, Zhejiang and other provinces. In addition, Caterpillar Remanufacturing Services has made notable contributions to energy conservation and emissions reduction.
The Caterpillar Foundation is also supporting a five-year Environmental Sustainable Urbanization Project to develop low-carbon city models and pathways in China, India and Brazil. The Foundation has also been actively engaged since 2005 in a project aimed at protecting the eco-system along the Yangtze River.
