Easter Seals features Cat Machine in 2012 Ornament of Hope^®

Easter Seals Central Illinois 22nd holiday ornament is Caterpillar themed, featuring a 627H wheel tractor-scraper. The organization chose this machine as the 2012 ornament to highlight the important relationship between Caterpillar and the Central Illinois area: the Caterpillar Foundation and Caterpillar employees have supported Easter Seals throughout the years, the 627H is manufactured in Decatur and Caterpillar has a strong presence in the state, including the Corporate Headquarters in Peoria.

Since 1990, Easter Seals has partnered with local Chambers of Commerce to feature the historical and well-known landmarks throughout the area. Through the years, many individuals and businesses have become avid collectors of the series of ornaments. Caterpillar was also the theme of the 2011 Ornament of Hope^®, which featured a 797 mining truck.

The ornaments are 24 carat gold over brass, signed and numbered for authenticity and are minted at the Charleston Mint. Proceeds from the ornament help disabled individuals in achieving goals toward improved independence each year through Easter Seals Central Illinois programs and services.
