Caterpillar Foundation Supports Life Skills Education for Young Russian Families

The Caterpillar Foundation is supporting a project in Russia targeted at technical and life skills education of young Russians from underprivileged families. The project is executed by the U.S. non-profit organization International Youth Foundation and their Russia partner, the New Perspectives Foundation (NPF).

Since the project was launched in September, a number of activities have already taken place. For example, trainers from NPF delivered a series of training sessions to more than 50 St. Petersburg technical school teachers in October.

The training sessions are part of the "Future Professionals" program organized by NPF and made possible thanks to Caterpillar Foundation support. The training sessions were conducted at Avtoservice, the professional technical training centre in St. Petersburg. Caterpillar has a manufacturing facility located in Tosno, Russia, near St. Petersburg.

This project is part of the Caterpillar Foundation's $10.5 million global pledge to support job skills training and technical education around the world.

Caterpillar supports the philanthropic efforts of the Caterpillar Foundation. Founded in 1952, the Caterpillar Foundation has contributed more than $500 million to help make sustainable progress possible around the world by providing program support in the areas of environmental sustainability, access to education and basic human needs.
