Caterpillar Awarded the Education Award of Excellence by APICS

In October, Caterpillar was awarded the Education Award of Excellence by APICS the Association for Operations Management. Each year, APICS, a global leader and premier source of the body of knowledge in supply chain and operations management, recognizes significant bottom-line and workforce development results achieved through innovation and education.

As part of the Caterpillar Production System's (CPS) Integrated Supply Chain strategy, many Caterpillar employees around the world are working on becoming APICS certified in supply chain management. The goal of the program is to build deep supply chain expertise throughout the enterprise.

Mark Ward, CPS Supply Chain Director, accepted the award on behalf of Caterpillar along with trainers and sponsors Joe Mikesell, Jake Ordonez and Daniel Stanton.

Ward congratulated graduates saying, "Caterpillar is seen as the leader in educating our workforce in the area of supply chain management. This is a fitting recognition of all the hard work that our employees have put in. Congratulations and thank you to the team that is helping train and equip our people and the students who make a commitment to this program."
